Dreamsofwings1
Hi all, Very interested in purchasing HD trees to improve the visuals on my low and slow VFR trips but also because of the claim that it improves performance. Can anyone confirm what kind of increase in performance they got? Also, and this may be a very stupod question, but do the existing ORBX scenery packs eg EU England, already contain the HD Trees upgrade or is t a completely seperate amd new upgrade? Many thanks. Rob Newman
It is a seperate upgrade... HD trees will be used only if they are installed. As for performance gains, it's all very subjective... no two systems are alike, and P3D behaves differently to FSX etc... Basically, you will notice the biggest gain in FSX. P3D tends to remain about the same, but you obviously get better looking trees at no performance cost. My own personal experience in FSX was about a 12% FPS increase, and a tiny VAS reduction using HD trees. In P3D, I didn't see any performance change, FPS or VAS, but the trees obviously looked better.
Dreamsofwings1
Thanks Rob, appreciate your help. I am using FSX-SE so I think I will download as seems a no brainer to improve visuals AND performance.

Anyone interested in purchasing and looking to see what it is like here is short video in Scottish Highlands showing the HD trees. https://youtu.be/agTRxnXPiG4
