Nick Cooper
Welcome. You will need to tell us what you are trying to install and if it's an FTX product you have purchased, the order number.

Nick Cooper
The FTX installers rely on there being a correct registry entry to tell them where FSX is installed. You can read about the registry entries here You can download and install the FSX Registry Utility from this page which will help you create the correct one. Once you have installed the airports, you will also need the latest version of the Orbx Libraries which you can find here
larryisenor
If you download and run the installer the airports will be installed and an entry will be made in the scenery.cfg file. Run fsx and the airports should be there. You will need to download the Orbx libraries as the airports depend on these files for most of the scenery objects at the airports. RikR
I am trying to install the same freeware ftx global airport pack North America. After installing this pack, I then installed the Orbx libraries. Both installs appeared to work correctly. I can see the files are in the Orbx directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX However, the airports in the pack do not appear in FSX to be selected. Nick Cooper
I expect that they do but in the airport menu they look no different to what was there already.
RikR
The North America pack includes KIXA, which is a new small airport that was not in FSX originally. After installing the freeware pack I can see the 2 files for KIXA but, it still does not appear in the list.
Nick Cooper
Do you see FTX_AA_GLOBAL_AIRPORTS in your scenery library? There should be three files...
RikR
I have a file: scenerylib_FTX_AA_GLOBAL_AIRPORTS.cfg In a folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\Scripts
Nick Cooper
As you should, however, do the entries FTX_AA_GLOBAL_AIRPORTS and FTXAA_ORBXLIBS appear in your in sim scenery library?
RikR
No, they do not.
Nick Cooper
You can add them manually, then you should see the airports.
RikR
If I use the FSX "Add Area" I can only find FTXAA_ORBXLIBS and if I select and click OK, it is not added to the list. I am unable to locate FTX_AA_GLOBAL_AIRPORTS using the same procedure.
Nick Cooper
You should find the folder in ORBX\FTX_GLOBAL. There is a small fault in the FSX scenery library. Once you have selected the area to add, you must right click anywhere in the centre of the window to add the area.
