  1. I have been on P3D v4.5HF3, Active Sky for P3d V4, and REX Environment Force for a long time. They have been working well together.

Anyhow, decided last week to buy P3d V5.2 full install, along with an upgrade of Active Sky 3D (to 5.2 beta?).

Both installed OK. Active Sky starts and connects OK to P3D for me. However, the clouds look horrible to me after having REX Skyforce and REX Environment Force that I am used to on V4.5.

I did go from FSUIPC5 to FSUIPC6 for another reason (ProSim 737 needs it)

Active Sky does throw up an error box saying the '3D Connect' is the wrong version but I think that is for Radar screens that I don't use. After that it is fine.

I must say Orbx ground scenery on V5.2 looks terrific. Great increase in frame rates as well. Just need to get the sky looking as good. I'm not sure if anyone has REX Skyforce working with P3d V5.2 yet. They say that they have a Technical Upgrade v2.6 in the pipeline?

    Sorry I can't help.

  2. Interesting but not what Timmo asked Wombat. :) Any idea when it will be released for P3d?

Quite a few of us have expressed interest over the years for Perth airport.

If it is not going to be developed for P3d would be nice to know and we would go looking for another supplier. (I'd rather stay with Orbx and Partners)

    Hi,

YPPH Perth was released about 6 months ago , after partnering up with Orbx we will be moving all our products to Orbx central/direct soon. Thanks for the support.

Good to hear from Axonos but no mention of a P3d version of Perth as a companion to the XP11 version? Is it in the pipeline?

  4. Well done Orbx,

Being from this side of the world, my main flying area of interest is the reverse order: 3,2, then 1.

I will be purchasing area one early and will eagerly building the complete set :)

(Personally: Tried MSFS. Looks like it will be a long time before MSFS will be usable in a multiscreen, hardware driven, sim. Returned to P3d)

    Great work.

  5. Personally, I would prefer the Multiple option. I believe development would more manageable than the 'Asia LC' that people have been requesting over the years.

It could involve more developers working in their particular area of interest and geographic speciality.

It could then involve a staggered release, occurring when they are ready and not waiting for a complete continent, of such varying LC and climate, to be tested and released.

    My 2c worth.

  6. Great news and wonderful work Jarrard, Jeffery.

Unfortunately, even though I have many Orbx airports, (all AUS, NZ and a few in UK) it looks like I am going to have to wait to experience SODE jetways at my favourites.

I do have GSX V1 (waiting for the dust to settle on teething issues in GSX V2) so I can see the advantage of being in a SODE world.

    Waiting patiently.

  7. I agree Lance. Many to choose from.

My favourite would be Williamtown (YWLM) to start with.

It is now a combined RAAF, domestic and International airport.

Using P3D V4 and Orbx combined you still don't have a parking bay for domestic aircraft. Must be a lot of AI aircraft waiting to take off around Australia :-)

  8. Memories.....

I bought my first computer in Footsgray, Melbourne during 1977. It was a Tandy TRS-80 (Mk1)

It was physically the first Computer that the Tandy store had sold (I requested they get it in) so I had to show the shop assistants what it did. (I had done my research) They wanted to see what it did so I set it up in the shop. I may have had the first personal computer in Australia (definitely Victoria)

I told them to keep bringing computers in because I could see many people wanting a computer in their home. I don't think they believed me and thought only nerds would want a personal computer in the home. It had 4K of memory. A year later I bought the chips to upgrade it to 16K (A week's wages)

Bruce Artwick of Sublogic brought out Flight Simulator for the TRS80 in 1980 so naturally, I bought that program on cassette. The entire screen resolution of the "Trash 80" was 128 x 48 so you had to use your imagination.

By 1982 I had purchased one if the first 8088 IBM clone PC. (I avoided the Apple machines) Microsoft bought out the Sublogic company and produced MSFS 1.0 which I bought. I have had every version of MS Sim since then. The PCs where IBM 8088, 286, 386, 486 and every flavour after that.

I have, this month, just purchased P3DV4. My first sim other than Microsoft. Quite a journey.
