[Screen in XP becoming better]

Hi all,

 

there is a patch now for XP12 1.08 and I made some progress with my screen, not everything is lost yet! 🙂

This is the stock Citation which is on a good payware level. The shot's are in the early morning as you can see.

You can install the Lorby P3d Addon Organizer, it's free and it works for v5. Get familiar with it and it can arrange the layers for v5.

And than you can trick it and copy the addon.cfg from v6 into your place where you usually have the addon.cfg for v5.

But of course backup the addon.cfg from v5 before because you have to overwrite it. And don't start v5 as long as the other one is in.

So, and now the path in the addon.cfg leeds to your v6 installation and you can arrange that all. Do it on your own risk and be careful! 🙂

It's what I do with v4.5 and v6 addon cfg.

 

I also found a lot of bugs in the v6 basescenery creating issues, have to go in this deeper. Airport elev issues and senseless big things somewhere and so.

I don't have that at all in v4.5.

And thank you Graeme and yes, it looks more realistic with the new light. And the performance is greatly improved compared with v4.5.

I can do what I want, I always have 30 limited frames. Around KLAX in the TE with high settings and 60 % traffic, 30 frames. 

Scenery loads a bit faster as well. But some addons from v.4.5 do not work or have issues. This must be tested.

Thanks Wayne, I've downloaded the entire thing again for that 🙂, nearly 40 GB. But it works. They improved the AA features.

Flying itself also works very well, the aircraft is very stable.

Hi all,

 

now I am totally happy with the new sim, it's good, a lot of improvements i.e. scenery loading and so. FTX Global doesn't work at all so far 

but _I don't care. This can be because my addon lib is from v4.5 and not v5. Hope Orbx will first of all bring all the Global stuff to the sim.

I fly in Oceania and test my aircraft, Most work but not all. The D18 seems to be fine "as is". Some shots here:

[P3dv6 and FTX Global]

Hi all,

 

recently I installed P3dv6 and first loaded the AUv2 and airports and NZ regions. This works well "as is" and also various aircraft for P3dv4.5, others not.

Than I tried to load Global Base and the US OLC but this doesn't work because of missing autogen, no trees and only a few buildings.

 

I have the layers exactly as it is in v4.5 and I've copied the lib for Global Base somewhere to have a special one for v6 and renamed the autogenxxxx

from legacy. But it doesn't work. As others here can do it I am wondering what's going on.

 

But: As I said it's not a lib for P3dv5, it's for  v4.5 because I never installed v5.

Hi all,

 

this looks indeed better than in v4.5. Runs absolutely smoothly without any stuttering or so. Always have to watch my Vram,

so a Graphics Card with at least 8GB is really recommended for the sim.

Currently XP12 is out more since more than a year and my installation is now 12.07, this will of course not perform as a version 11.55.

If somebody received a higher patch please tell me. And this situation will go on for longer. So I use my XP11 because it runs perfect and my XP12 is put back.

I think most developers work for MSFS currently and regarding XP the question is if they can sell the updates for XP12.

Don't think they will do it all for free.

Because it's not available in Orbx Central you can only use it from a p3dv4.5 or v5 addon lib. So you must install the sceneries using Orbx Central

for i.e. v5 to an addon lib and activate it as addon. And than you can do the same in v6. So far I use the AU and NZ sceneries which seem to run "as is".

I will go on testing next days, FTX Global is more difficult. But I have everything in addon libs.

Looks good Filou. Same as in MSFS there is something needed to adjust the sunlight in XP12 I think. But the version updates go very slow.

Glad you like it Johnny. And yes but as I said above there is a new system for the light with 8 sliders total and I have to learn how to use it.

I assume that you have Orbx P3d sceneries as well, my recommendation is to install the sim and try it out, the sim is on the right track.

Meanwhile I found that  the Australia sceneries work very well (as is, including the traffic) and look better than in v4.5.

Hi all,

 

found that LM now offers a new "personal" license for a reasonable price which is for home use as well and no watermarks.

So I installed it because I have really a lot of addons for P3d. And it seems to work well, the plane here is an older freeware version of the Justflight C152,

Carenado works as well and even my old Flight1 Islander for FSX. Maybe some minor problems will come up.

 

The sim has an advanced light system just like MSFS and XP12 and it also has a lot of sliders to adjust it. 

But I have to learn how to use this, so what you can see here is not the end of the story. Framerates are good as well and I don't have a lot Vram.

The Orbx Honolulu here runs well and I will do all the others next days, the big TE sceneries and so. Perhaps it will get a bit more out of the

landclass sceneries as well, will see. 

 

If things continue like this I'll be very happy...🙂
