I got the one for Australia East, didn't see a lot of birds, though they are there. Performance impact was virtually zero. For what they are I'd say they are overpriced probably $5 Aus would be right, at 10 they are sort of marginal. That said they are quite startling at times - just like real flying, suddenly there's this black spot whizzing by at a few meters away. So as in so much of Flight Sim it's whatever floats your boat.

Have a look in the forum, it's been answered several times. Short answer is yes you will have to buy new scenery. Trouble with software is it doesn't wear out it just becomes obsolescent. Look at it this way, if you bought new horse shoes back in the 1920's you couldn't use them with your new car in the 1950's, different operating system.....

Hi Matt, I think the auto pilot issue actually wasn't an Orbx issue, it was an issue with the GNS which has been fixed now. My issue is that the plane was promoted as having a much updated HSI / nav suite and basically that hasn't been updated at all, also the ipad has never been fixed as far as I am aware. Maybe I have been over optimistic in my expectations. To be honest part of the issue is that Orbx doesn't make statements about updates or changes to products, and as you are probably aware this can lead to a bit of frustration mongst customers.
-
I understand what you are saying John, but the plane is really somewhat broken or at least frayed around the edges. I agree it is not the only plane in the market with issues left unaddressed by devs. It is a real shame but I am guessing economics come into this and it is what it is. However it will be a long long time before I buy another a/c from Orbx, their track record on a/c is not, imo, very good.

Try this, should give you some help and insight. It really isn't that hard

Orbx don't comment on stuff like this. Check out the forum where others have asked similar questions. Seems even the moderators and some staff don't get info on this stuff. But it doesn't mean it won't happen, eventually, maybe.

thanks John, I use Little Navmap and it will do the same thing, so its not a big issue I just thought that BB might have provided a list, "hey ho" we move on.

It is just VOR's around the UK, does what it is supposed to, my only gripe is that BB don't provide a manual or a list of VOR freq's which would have been nice. The VOR system is going away because of GPS so if you are into navs etc they are hard to find (especially in Australia, either in real life or the sim). The value depends if you want to use VOR for navs, if so they are good value.

does anyone know where to find the VOR frequencies for the stations in this package. I can find them by looking up each site online but is there a list anywhere or can this be done in the game anywhere?
Thanks
Brian

it's up there now

is this going to be available via Orbx?

As it happens I am using WiFi V6 and having no issues but seems a lot depends on the signal strength and also the standard and frequency being used and of course the amount of competing WiFi around you. For preference I think direct connection is best if you have that available. I did not have a convenient hard wire ethernet point so went with WiFi , that was the only reason. So if you were getting 56Mbps via WiFi as against 530 on ethernet sounds like there is an issue with the wifi .

"So now I have that sorted out, those of you with your **@@/ remarks can go and crawl back under your rocks"
Sorry Don but this is not helpful or appropriate on the forum.

I think he's saying caveat emptor. I have found that on several occasions the price has been deeply discounted on the MS shop compared to Orbx/other resellers. Presumably this is because of the bigger comsumer base that MS has resulting in more sales for devs or some sort of promo deal.
You cannot expect Orbx to refund because the price is cheaper elsewhere. Almost no retail store will do that (although some claim to as a special promo).
So the lesson is check the prices for a product before you buy.
Sorry Don, I think that you will have to cop this one.

Seems like you are having issues getting MSFS up and running. This forum is primarily for Orbx products you might have better luck for MSFS with https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us or asking on the MSFS forums.
Nevertheless people on this forum will try to help if they can.

I noticed that the ipad on this aircraft (used for configuration I think) now just shows up as a blank black page with 4 white boxes (which look like the selection tabs) . I haven't used this A/C in a while so don't know if this is a recent issue. Everything else seems to work OK (although the reverse trim remains) I know this is an IRIS plane but I bought it from Orbx so this is my first point of reference. Incidentally there was mention of a similar issue on the MSFS forum but with reference to a caranado A/C so I am wondering if this is another MSFS mystery update. Just wondering if anyone else has a similar issue with this or other A/C.

I don't know if you have tried this but I'd rename your community folder to ensure no other items are causing this issue. It looks like that to me.
