  1. I wouldn't have thought so. The only Australia scenery I have is Orbx. I do use AIG but I'm pretty sure that doesn't move stands about. Is there software that does that? There certainly is an issue with stand 5, at least. This is what I see whan I ask P3D to load an aircraft at stand 5. The photo where you can see the end of the stand is inside the terminal building.
  2. Actually, having another look at it this morning, I think my airport itself may be ok, but the aircraft are loading up ahead of the gate lines, so at gate 5 I was partly inside the building. Other gates it doesn't make too much difference being a bit ahead of the T at the front of the line.
  3. OK, thanks Nick. Any suggestions as to what could be causing mine to have these issues?
  4. The aircraft is spawned at gate 5. I took a full screen screenshot but had to crop it as the image size was too large to be posted. It looks like some default buildings are also showing in the scenery.I have heard people mention adding an exclusion to stop default stuff coming through. Is that the issue here, what do I need to do if it is? I do have Australia V2. This airport is at the top of my Orbx scenery library. The only scenery I have above Orbx is airports from other developers. Thanks
  5. Thanks Nick and John, That's great to hear you are aware of it, and it will be fixed.
  6. Having bought a lot of airports 2 days ago from Orbx, I am currently enjoying flights to, and from them. However, some of them have issues, which it would be nice to be acknowledged that they are issues, and informed whether they are going to be fixed or not. I know it's probably a pain having people like me on here moaning about such things, but unless I am wrong about the errors I am pointing out it seems like a good opportunity to have a problem highlighted so it can be fixed. I was just flying into LIEO runway 23 for the first time. The PAPI lights were telling me I was significantly too low, and the ILS was telling was me I was too high. I know in the sim ILSs and PAPIs are not always perfectly aligned but this is more than that. After landing, and having a look again, I see the PAPIs are not aligned with the touchdown zone. I wonder if Nick or Doug could let me know if Orbx intend to fix things like this, because for me PAPIs and ILS systems are at least as important as eye candy in airport scenery. Unless, of course I am wrong in my observations, this seems like an error to me, and payware airports with ILS slopes and PAPIs not working properly is not really something I want to spend my hard earned money on. If the Orbx response is "yes, we see what you are saying. thanks for pointing it out. It will be fixed in an update reasonably soon" then I am more than happy to wait. If Orbx' view is that this is our LIEO scenery offering as it is, take it or leave it, then frankly I would rather leave it.
  7. I'll maybe put a ticket in just so at least they are aware of it.
  8. Thanks Nick, Unfortunately not everything is perfect in P3D, as in life! I've also noticed the default ILS at Belfast City doesn't work properly, which is a shame. Is that something developers would generally look to fix in a payware airport, or are they unable to modify the default P3D ILSs?
  9. I just bought some Orbx scenery today including KACK. Unfortunately the ILS at runway 6 is not working properly. There is no glideslope, and the localiser is not central. Runway 24 is working fine though. I would be grateful if someone could check their copy of KACK to conform this so we can perhaps have a fix in an update. I guess it's possible there's something wrong at my end but I dont think so. If it's an external developer, could someone let me know who if I should report it directly to them. Thanks
  10. My settings are limited compared to what I would like with my 6GB GPU. I wouldn't be without Active Sky though.
  11. Hi Tim, May I ask if there are any other recommended settings for Orbx add on airports to work at their best? I bought a lot of scenery and airports in the recent sale, and most airports are looking good, but a few seem to have slightly wonky textures that move about on part of the runways as you move along them. Gold Coast and Canberra being two of them. I'm wondering if there is another setting I should change as well as mesh resolution size? Thanks Calum
  12. Hi, I have bought quite a few add on airports recently in Australia and New Zealand, both from Orbx and other developers. I have noticed the lack of runway centre lights at all of them except Melbourne. Is it the case that most airports in Aus and NZ don't have runway centre lights? When I Googled it, I did find a story about a plane demolishing some side lights after landing off centre at Darwin, and a recommendation that all runways over a certain width should have centre lights. Perhaps this is also the case in other places but I've never noticed it before. Thanks
  13. My graphics card runs the PMDG and FSL aircraft quite stable at the settings I posted. I will buy a good card when available. but they are impossible to get just now.
  14. Yes. With the Majestic Dash 8 it was fine cranking up the settings, but 90% of the time I use PMDG Boeings and FSL A320, so I need to have settings reliable for them.
  15. I had a play about with my settings again, and as soon as I used a PMDG Boeing I had CTDs again when changing settings or location. I think I will just have to accept settings where my sim is at it's most stable until better GPUs are available. I just noticed Tim's post above though, so I will try his suggestions before giving up.
  16. Thanks Smudger, My GPU is a GEFORCE GTX 1660 super with 6GB. I think my issue is possibly that I have a 43 inch monitor with a high resolution. Also I like Enhanced Atmospherics which I think puts a fair load on the GPU. I also have another add on airport that I dont see taxi lines at the gate unless I increase scenery complexity, and I have tried playing around with settings quite a few times increasing the mesh resolution and scenery complexity, and reducing other things to try to balance that, so that these 2 add on airports work properly. I then always suffer from a lot of CTDs as the flight is loading, or if I have left a flight to change settings and the flight tries to reload. I have attached my display settings. Perhaps there would be milage in reducing my resolution, then increasing mesh resolution and scenery complexity. My sim is quite stable just now though, and I absolutely hate it when it isn't, and frequent CTDs are happening.
  17. Is this airport from Orbx themselves, or a third party developer? I would like to open a support ticket, as whilst there is a workaround of reducing the size of mesh resolution, I then suffer frequent CTDs as my GPU is not capable of increasing my graphics settings higher than they currently are. I don't think a complete solution on the forum is possible, as several people have already pointed out the problem with that scenery, but I have attached a photo showing the problem, plus my graphics settings and my scenery library in case an answer can be found here without opening a support ticket. The few items that cannot be seen at the top of my scenery library are add on airports. Thanks.
  18. Just to confirm. I just bought Orbx Newcastle and had the same issue, but only with internal views from the cockpit. Exterior views were fine. Anyway, having Googled and found this thread, my mesh was also at 19m and the issue is also resolved for me with a mesh of 5m. Until it becomes possible to buy better GPUs I guess it's a case finding the correct balance in settings for something your PC is able to run smoothly, hence why my mesh setting was low.
  19. No worries Doug. I appreciate you and Nick helping people on here.
  20. By and large I am happy with the Orbx products I have bought, and I'm sure they are extremely busy. I'm not sure if they want customers to flag up problems or not. I guess it is a pain for them if people seem to be moaning, but then it allows problems to be fixed, and the products to be improved. For example, EU Scotland also has areas of grass on the taxiways at EGPK and EGPE. I might try to work out if I can amand that myself in ADE, but I'm really a newbie, and non techie when it comes to such things.
  21. Thanks Fraser, and thanks for confirming that the problem is Orbx and not my system., albeit I had pretty much worked that out anyway. I never used TE GB North Earth after buying and trying it, as the roads around Glasgow and Edinburgh are green and look terrible, and the roads on an island I tried, EGPU are yellow. Frankly I would have to disagree in the strongest terms with anyone who claims that enhances the sim. I like the Orbx EU Scotland scenery, except the similar issues it has to TE GB North with EGPF. I have now fixed that issue by buying a payware version of EGPF from UK2000. Up until then I had only bought Orbx scenery, and planned to keep it that way as as I thought that would keep my sim more stable and better organised. I am both surprised and dissapointed though, that Orbx seem to have no interest in dealing with genuine feedback about problems that would only take a few minutes for an experienced scenery designer to fix. Therefore whilst I will still buy Orbx products if I want to, I will research and read reviews before doing so, and I will be a customer of other scenery companies too.
  22. Hi Nick, The issues I have with both GB True Earth North, and EU Scotland are at EGPF. I have not noticed any problems elsewhere. The reason that EGPH was mentioned is that I have the Orbx payware airport there, and Doug had intructed me to also uninstall that, as seen in the thread above. When I originally posted this thread all I had noticed was the signs on the taxiway when EU Scotland is installed. I hadn't had any aircraft parked at a gate that was in the wrong place at that point. I noticed that after my original post. Last night I removed EU Scotland and EGPH for the umpteenth time, deleted the backups, synched my sim and again there were no issues with taxiway signs or gates. I installed GB True Earth North and the taxiways were sign free, but the aircraft was impaled on certain gates. I uninstalled GB True Earth North again, and installed EU Scotland again and both the signs on the taxiways, and the terminal buildings, or parking gates being in the wrong place is back again. The terminal building running through the aircraft is the same with PMDG and FSL aircraft. I just tried a default P3D v5 plane and the same thing is happening. You can see the screenshot below. That is gate 1. Whist I must confess I am far from an expert on computers and scenery for flight sims etc, it seems to me that there are some issues with EGPF in both EU Scotland and UK True Earth North. I have uninstalled and redownloaded eath of those at least half a dozen times now trying to fix this issue. I suspect some aspects of EGPF are simply in the wrong place in EU Scotland and True earth GB North. Thanks Calum
  23. I've been removing and installing EU Scotland and True Earth GB North to try and work out exactly what is causing these programs. I have no after market scenery packages installed other than Orbx. With no EU Scotland, no True Earth GB North, and no EGPH installed, there are no issues with either signs on taxiways, or aircraft impaled on the terminal building at certain gates. I then installed True Earth GB North, whist leaving EU Scotland and EGPH uninstalled. All backups were deleted, and Orbx direct has been synched with the sim. The taxiway was free of signs, but the aircraft was impaled on the gate if I located it to G1, for example. When I have True Earth GB North uninstalled, but EU Scotland installed I have both the signs on taxiways and the terminal building going through the aircraft in certain parking spots. It would be good if this could be replicated by someone at Orbx so a solution can be implemented, as I don't see how the problem can be caused at my end when Orbx is the only add on scenery I have on P3D v5. I already don't use True Earth GB North as the colour of the roads is mostly green or yellow which detracts from enjoying the sim rather than enhancing it. Obviously there is no appetite within Orbx to acknowledge or fix that as I did open a support ticket. It is dissapointing if I also have serious issues detracting from immersion with the EU Scotland add on. If I am correct that the issue is at Orbx's end, it would be better to just sort it, or at least acknowlege that that is the case so I can stop spending time uninstalling and reinstalling things at my end to try and fix it to no avail. I would already have bought more Orbx products by now if I wasn't having these issues.
  24. Hi, They are already disabled. I didn't do anything to disable them. I have attached screenshots to make sure what is in the folder is correct.
  25. Hi Doug, I can find the 2 files in the above quote, but I have no idea how to disable them. Could you explain how to do that please. Calum
