Greg Rottinger
Hi Guys, Does anyone know of a way to remove the door open/close message and the green bar at the top of the screen. Also the Zoom info on the top right corner of the screen. I have looked in the cfg file but can only find reference to other messages like the brake etc. Thanks
Maurice_King
I have changed the colours on mine but I dare say if you comment out these lines they might not appear. Maurice_King
Read the initial post meaty old mate he wants to get rid of the Zoom and other info that pops up too.
Greg Rottinger
Thanks guys but your are right Maurice. The above instructions only change the colour of the info on the top right of the screen to green. The door open/close info still comes up. I don't think it can be done in the cfg file. Any other takers!!
Gurdy
Greg did you try to comment out those lines as Maurice suggested?? Would be interested to know if you can make it work.
Greg Rottinger
Not sure what you mean by "Comment out" Do you mean remove entirely??. I can try that. I did remove all reference to the colour numbers but upon re-starting FSX it just reverted to the original numbers.
Gurdy
just put // in front of the lines.. should do the trick
Greg Rottinger
Thanks Gurdy. Will give that a go. EDIT: Commenting out the lines did not work for me. FSX just rebuilt them when I re-started.

Heiko Glatthorn
I tried to get rid of this bar for ages... The only solution i found so far - when the green bar pops up i grab it and drag it as small as it gets and move it over to a corner of my secondary monitor... Maurice_King
Which particular lines are annoying you the most . I may be able to figure a way of at least making them somewhat transparent.
Tim Harris
yep, searched hi and low, it must be controlled from somewhere, I even had a hunt in the aircraft.cfgs what are the other messages you get that are like the door open/close message? crash is one I have managed to lose everything but the door/crash message
Greg Rottinger
I looked in the aircraft cfg's too but could not find anything. The main ones I would like to get rid of are: 1. Door open/close - message and green bar 2. Zoom info on Top RH corner. That's it! Must be controlled in the main program somewhere.

Greg Rottinger
Thanks. That works. Still trying to find a way for the exit banners.
Heiko Glatthorn
Thanks. That works. Still trying to find a way for the exit banners. Must be some serious stuff. Even with a registered version of FSUIPC you can't switch it off... Probably hard coded - not possible to tweak away.
Greg Rottinger
Thanks Mango. I think you are right. It must be hard coded.
