FTX Global Base

I am about to purchase FTX Global Base ( FSX / Win 7) at Flightsimstore

My reason for this mail is just to be sure about the installation issues , as I have FSX running great at present ( and do not fancy a reinstall if I make a mistake installing FTX Global Base)

I currently have FTX AU ( all regions installed ) along with YMML and YBCS

If I install FTX Global Base will it automatically integrate into the above or is there anything I should be aware of

Thanks ( and forgive this somewhat over cautions inquiry)

FTX AU SP4 - FSS0323465

FTX YMML V2 FSSS0161892

FTX YBCS ( sorry I don't have my order number to hand)

Hi :)

I've added your ordernumbers to your Sig, so that's sorted ;)

As for installing FTX Global :

install the latest library files this to make sure you have the latest version of FTX Central

Set FTX Central to default and hit Apply

make sure you have Administrator rights

make sure your Virus scanner is switched OFF

exclude your main fsX folder from continuous scanning by your AV program

for the installer extract all files into one folder

Right click the exe and select to "Run as Administrator"

have your purchase data handy as the installer will prompt for them

at a point the installer will ask if you want to make a "Back-up" of your current texture set, your choice to do, I would advise to do so, just in case you need to revert back for whatever reason.

It is a BIG install so it will take some time

after the install make sure to run the latest library files again

fire up fsX and let it rebuild it's scenery data base and do a lil check-ride, close fsX.

If your HD is an old fashioned HDD defrag your fsX drive and reboot the system

If your HD is a SSD, reboot the system so the TRIM function can do it's thing

I'd say Happy Flights in the new world :)
