^33^Amc
With the upcoming release of FTX, and also the upcoming release of REX (http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com) i ask the question of, will these two be compatible. This is what REX has said "REX consists of an ultra-realistic breakthrough in simulation analysis, comprising a vast assortment of NEW, never been seen, graphical content based on PHOTO-REALISTIC elements. This technology combined with our brand NEW Weather Engine and Flight Planner, will enhance your complete sky environment, water environment (including real-world coral & reef simulations), airport environment, lighting environment and weather environment." FTX "FTX introduces a radical new modular design with a level of visual fidelity unprecedented in Microsoft Flight Simulator since its introduction over twenty years ago. For the first time ever it is a pleasure to fly low and slow and take in the depth of features that our ground terrain textures provide. FTX Features: Super-crisp, superbly detailed 1m per pixel textures unique to each region Custom Landclass for every FTX Region Pack and 3D night lighting systems! Improved and highly accurate coastlines (AU Regions) Brand new autogen textures for trees, houses, buildings, roads and more A set of freeware photoreal GA airports with every FTX Region Pack Unlike FS2004, with FTX it's a case of the lower you fly, the more detail you will see! It's completely the reverse of what you have previously experienced, and it is only when you see FTX in motion on your PC that you will believe how truly immersive flying can now be." will these two products conflict if put together, i know REX says that it is mainly a weather product, but also affects the ground and water textures... John Venema
FTX and REX work beautifully together with zero conflict in textures. Same applies to FEX and ASX. All those environment packages deal with default textures and FTX lives outside those directories completely and won't conflict in any way. FTX beta testers are using FEX, ASX and pre-beta elements of REX already, and they work seamlessly. Orbx strongly recommends purchasing one of these environment packages, because the default FSX water, clouds and sky textures don't really compliment the FTX textures that well. Mike707
I totally believe what you are saying John. As for me, I think I will be getting REX as soon as it is available, that way, I will get the best experience possible.
JohnG
JohnV,with these add-on's ( X Graphics::fex::asx::rex::ect)can we use bits from all these programs at the one time,or do we have to use one or the other at a time. JohnG....
Heiko Glatthorn
With all those environment programs i use, you can choose exactly what you like to install and what not. So you can use for example the water from program A, the clouds from program B, together with the sky of program C. Heiko
^33^Amc
Cheers john, thanks for the feed back. I knew about REX, but not the others. You would not happen to have a link to the other two would you now? cheers; alex

Auzy
FEX is awesome, I highly recommend it (and I noticed John has a theme in it dedicated to him). I felt that it did slow down my computer a tiny bit, but its worth it. And I'm sure that it will be a great complement to FTX.
John Venema
Tim Fuchs from REX has also contributed some cool lighting effects for FTX.
