Ocean Water Blending at PNW is this right?

fsx is a fresh install with sp2 + all settings out of the box. no cfg edits or texture replacemtes. only things installed so far is: fsuipc, orbx pnw and tongass fjords

indeed, that's correct. PNW has to end somewhere and that's where the default water textures meet our replacements, which tend to be darker overall. Some third-party replacement sets for default water textures also make it darker, or at least allow for the option to do so. 


 


Also, the water effects slider, in conjunction with time of day, cloud cover, and other environmental parameters, decide how much of the "base" color and brightness gets displayed. Thus, experimenting with those sliders can help with making the boundary less apparent.

thank you for clarifying! i don´t remember the boundaries beeing so prominent on earlier installs? more like a soft blending? but maybe i never really took notice then..


lets see what some water texture replacements and maybe water configurator can do here..
