johnwillimas
I'm a bit puzzled by the snow I saw today climbing out of Stansted UK en route to the CLN VOR ... is this right or have I got something odd with my setup?
Holger Sandmann
Hi there, the UK custom seasons file does include "hard winter", meaning snow-covered textures but only in January with full coverage and December/February in high-elevation locations. Judging by the regular shape of the hard winter coverage in your screenshot I suspect a local weather situation with active snowfall as that will force FSX to switch to hard winter textures around the user aircraft regardless of season. Note that this is a one-way street meaning the sim won't switch textures back dynamically even if the weather changes. Only a full scenery library refresh and a weather situation without snowfall will bring back the non-winter textures. The same is true if you happen to save a flight situation with active snowfall in the aircraft's vicinity. Cheers, Holger
