manta
Hello, flying today a VFR flight to YCUS from YPLC I kept searching for two lakes at west and south south west of it: Lake Malata & Lake Greenly. Though with FTX Australia Sp4 I can't see them, there's green everywhere. Cheers Fabio
John Dow
There are bound to be lakes in that part of the country that may or may not be in the scenery, any number of things could be the cause... if the lakes are only occasionally filled they may be shown in geodata as dry depressions, there may be gaps in the data. OK... I just went in to FSX and flew the area, and yes the lakes are there, but they are showing green vegetation. This is probably because when they were mapped, they were dry lake beds and the grass or similar vegetation had grown in the beds. But their outlines are definitely there. manta
Thank you John, much appreciated. Yesterday, flying in real weather a VFR flight, had to be very low for an overcast at 1000ft, so all I was searching for, it was a speck of blue :/. I had to resort to GPS otherwise I was totally lost.
