glasklar
Before the installation of the FTX Global Patch 1.2 desert textures were much better than the default textures FSX. After the installation of the patch 1.2 the desert textures changed approximately what they were in FSX default. Even worse, I did a landing in a desert near Djerba in Tunisia (not on an airportrunway) and I discovered, that there is brown/yellow grass in the desert instead of sand. What happend with the patch 1.2? Unfortunately, I don't know how to post a picture, else I would insert one. Regards, Heinz

glasklar
Spirit I tried it, I can upload the picture but I can't insert the link in my post. I did the picture from FSX with the Snipping Tool from Windows, not by pressing V. The picture is a .jpg Picture. Is this the reason, I can't insert the link? Hi Heinz, that has something to do with the BB-Code I guess. You've to tick this. Spirit It's written at the link I gave you. glasklar
Hi Spirit Yes, I tried with the BBCode, there are two BBCodes, one in the group Direct links and one in the group Thumbnail + link. I tried both. Regards, Heinz
spirit_66
Hi Heinz, If you use the IE 11 then it may be difficult. I read from other users here in the forum. Firefox etc. is easy going. Spirit
glasklar
Here are two pictures with the desert textures after installing patch 1.20. Regards, Heinz
glasklar
I beleive I found out the reason for the bad desert textures. These bad textures are displayed when flying in winter season. Flying in the other seasons, they are correct. Regards, Heinz
glasklar
Are these desert textures in winter really intentionally or is it a bug?Regards, Heinz
spirit_66
An ORBX expert should look at this. Spirit
Tigerclaw
The colour looks good to me, but the the actual "texture" looks the old Rex Grass I used to use. I stopped using it, because the texture covers many different ground textures and looked wrong. Just as in your picture.
glasklar
Hi Tony Yes I use REX grass. Do you use the default FSX grass again? Here is a picture which shows the FSX Global desert textures in other seasons than winter. As we can see, there is a great difference between winter and the other seasons. A difference in favour of the other seasons. Regards, Heinz
glasklar
Is it possible to uninstall FTX Global completely and to reinstall it after the deinstallation? When yes, what is the correct way to do this? I hope to resolve my problem with the corrupt desert textures in winter by this action. glasklar
Please give me an answer to my question regarding an uninstall and a reinstallation of FTX Global Version 1.2 . Is this easely possible without creating new troubles or is it better to leave what it is and to live with the corrupt winter desert textures? Or do you see an other solution? Regards, Heinz
spirit_66
Why do you think a re-installation would help to solve your problem? But if you want to do it there is a description how to in the forum. You've to find it. Spirit
glasklar
Hi Spirit Because I have the default FSX winter textures, I think, when I do a reinstallation, they may be replaced by the FTX Global winter textures. I don't know for which reason the replacement of the default FSX winter textures by the FTX Global winter textures did not work during my first installation of FTX Global, so I hope, it will work, when I try it a second time. I found the description for the unistall. I have two .exe in the script folder (uninstall_OrbxFTXGlobal.exe and unistall_OrbxFTXGLOBAL1.10.exe) but no .exe for version 1.20. Which one of the .exe must I run or is it necessary to run both? And what is with version 1.20? I apologize for so many questions, but unfortunately I am only a simple user of your products and not a specialist in PC matters. glasklar
The file "uninstall_OrbxFTXGlobal.exe" in the scripts folder has 47619KB, the file "uninstall_OrbxFTXGlobal1.10.exe" has only 1765KB. I think, when I run the file "uninstall_OrbxFTXGlobal1.10.exe" only the patch 1.10 will be removed and the base pack will still be in place. Can you please confirm this.
