caribou
Hi Folks - Appreciate your info: 1. Can I backup the Orbx folder to my backup hd and then when needed (due to FSX reinstall or operating system reload) - reinstall that backed up folder to FSX on it's original HD? 2. Are there any registry changes that are involved when reinstalling from the backup HD? 3. Does the registry get updated when installing Orbx regions? Thanks Howard
Holger Sandmann
Hi Howard, while Orbx products don't create or alter registry entries there are plenty of files added or changed outside the \Orbx folder tree, which you'd miss by just backing up the Orbx folder. Since those "outside" changes depend on the specific products added, their control panel settings, etc., there's no "master list" one could create. Thus, I'd suggest making disk images instead at points in time you are happy with your current FSX installation and then use the last image as a starting point for a recovery. Cheers, Holger
