FTX Central Error

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Ordered and installed FTX Global a few days ago and "thought" I'd installed it properly. Terrain looks much improved.

Now when I go to FTX Central I receive the following error when I make a change.  This occurred the first time during the FTX Global installation process.

ERROR Message:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

End ERROR Message

Would appreciate any help resolving this or confirmation I can ignore it.

Update 24 Nov 13:

I have installed all the patches and the library files.  Still getting the error.  I click on "continue" and get a busy icon symbol, but nothing ever happens-even let it sit for over an hour.

I close the Central window and re-open it and it shows the selection has changed, but how can I be sure?  When I start FSX I do get the "building scenery libraries" message and FSX starts normally.

Thanks for a reply.

Yes, thanks, I can read the error message.  However, not being a programmer or software expert, I have no way of knowing or finding out which file has a "user-mapped section open" and/or which program is responsible.

This never happened with FTX Central prior to my installing FTX Global.  I have a number or FTX airports and the AUS region installed and FTX Central has always worked without error before Global.

I have a number of third-party add-ons also (Sim Physics, Airport Enhancer, FSForce 2, REX with Overdrive for weather, FSX Booster, etc.) installed but FTX Central has worked without error with these programs installed.

When I change regions in FTX Central now I get this error, but when I close and re-open Central, it appears to have changed the region and options, but I cannot detect what part of Global, if any isn't  working.  FSX runs fine otherwise.

No.

I repeat, a likely suspect is anti virus or malware software which interfered with your first installation and may be doing so now.

However, I did search this forum using these terms and came up with 13 results, some of which appear to be about exactly the same

error message as you are seeing.

Search terms: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.

As Nick pointed out,  It may be your antivirus,  disable your AV and see if it works.

If so, then exclude FSX from being scanned within the AV. if possible.

It's a good practice to always  disable the AV when installing add ons, you can scan the download first.

Due to the very nasty types of 'stealing trogens' around today,  Anti virus programs are being more aggressive and are causing a few issues with

what was once a staight forward process.

 another reason, the error is sometimes caused by having more than one antivirus running at the same time, If using a third party one, make sure

Windows Defender is disabled. etc.

Ok, I disabled Trend Micro and re-installed Global, the patch and the library file.  Same error.  FTX shows ver 1.0 Build 1036 July 12. Someone suggested it was suspected that Microsoft .Dot was outdated, but Windows/Microsoft update tells me everything is up-to-date.

Never had this problem with any of the scenery upgrades or airports (I have most of them), including AU Blue.  Only started after I installed Global.

I'm tempted to un-install everything ORBX and start over, but will wait a bit.
