AU SP4.003 update problem

Hello Kim,

All those little black squares are meant to be lights.

Are you using DX9 or are you using FTXG with DX10 by any chance, if so is it the latest version of  Steve,s DX10 fixer with the lights fix.

I am not using DX10 myself preferring to stay with DX9, so I can't advise you on how to go about this. There are a number of Threads that will describe the problem and process to fix.  Just type into the Forum search box (Black Squares) or (DX10 fixer) have a read through the most relevant posts and you should have a solution to your issue.

Cheers Jeff

Here are just a few Threads explaining the issue of (Black squares) now solved for DX10 users by Steve Parsons

Hi Kim,

I'm glad you have it sorted now, were you using (FSX DX10 preview mode) prior to buying Steve's DX10 fixer, or were the black squares appearing while in DX9 mode.

The shimmering & sparkle while in DX9 can be corrected with some filtering adjustments in Nvidia Inspector, although I have no idea which Video card you are running Nvidia or ATI.

Since you have now gone to the trouble of setting your Sim and Video to use Steve's DX10 fixer you probably will not go back to DX9 anyway, it seems for many, some great benefits can be gained with improvements being experienced in many areas.

Cheers Jeff

Hi Jeff,

The black shapes were not there in DX9,but I have always used the DX10 mode, water especially looks better than in DX9 with my system.I also found that my preferred aircraft (Realairs Beech Duke) had visual problems in the VC when in DX9 mode,so now that Steve's fixer has solved the problem,DX10 is where I'll stay.

thanks again for the advice.

Cheers...Kim.
