red259
I recently tried some free demos PNW & iceland. Previously ftx global had been working fine. Now I am seeing trees in the water and water in the trees all over fsx. I installed the patch for ftx global (although when ftx central loads it still says version 1.0) and the latest libraries. When I go to ftx central I have two options global and north america. The default option does not appear at all. When I switched from north america back to global I got the error below. I have removed the iceland demo, but I got an error when running the pnw uninstaller and it was not removed. I have moved my airport scenery about all ftx products and it does not solve the issue. I was thinking about uninstalling ftx and deleting any orbx file on my computer and then trying to reinstall it. Thanks. ************** Exception Text ************** System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\Scripts\Backup\restore.bat' is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding) at System.IO.File.WriteAllText(String path, String contents, Encoding encoding) at FTXCentral.FTX_Environment.CopyBuildRestoreBat() at FTXCentral.FTX_Environment.ApplyRegionChanges() at FTXCentral.FTXC.Apply() at FTXCentral.FTXC.lblApplyButton_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Label.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5472 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- FTXCentral Assembly Version: 1.0.3.6 Win32 Version: 1.0.3.6 ---------------------------------------- Microsoft.VisualBasic Assembly Version: 8.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 8.0.50727.5420 (Win7SP1.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5467 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5468 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5467 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- System.Runtime.Remoting Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5420 (Win7SP1.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- System.Configuration Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5476 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- System.Xml Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5476 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- kdp40ajs Assembly Version: 1.0.3.6 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5467 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) ---------------------------------------- System.Core Assembly Version: 3.5.0.0 Win32 Version: 3.5.30729.5420 built by: Win7SP1 ---------------------------------------- eutjhqpq Assembly Version: 1.0.3.6 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5467 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) ----------------------------------------
John Venema
You have a permissions error on restore.bat - try running FTX Central as Administrator to overcome that error, then switching from Global to North America again.
red259
I ran it as an administrator and was able to switch back and forth between north america and global without a problem. However, I am still running into the issue with trees and buildings being in the water or water in the mountains.

red259
pls try this go to => C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX and open the scenery.cfg file with notepad and check that the first entry is equal to the one I've posted here [Area.001] Title=Default Terrain Local=Scenery\World Texture_ID=1 Layer=1 Active=TRUE Required=TRUE The very first entry is:[General] Title=FS9 World Scenery Description=FS9 Scenery Data Clean_on_Exit=TRUE Right after that is the entry you posted and it matches exactly. I don't have fs9 only fsx.
Wolter van der Spoel
OK, was just a hunch, so that's OK then
red259
Yes, it's too bad that was not the issue. I wish it was an easy fix.
red259
I ended up uninstalling all orbx products and reinstalling FTx global. It works now but I am hesitant to try other orbx products in the future because of the concern how it may impact global.
