gbogeaus
Gentlemen, The airports in the Iceland Demo for FTX Global appear to duplicate "stubs" in the FSX Scenery File. Is this a problem?
Wolter van der Spoel
Hi Geoffrey, not sure what exactly you do mean, maybe you could be so kind and post up a screenshot of your "duplicate" files so we can have a look at it

Wolter van der Spoel
Hi Geoffrey, easiest solution is to rename the AECBIKR.bgl from the FSX Default Terrain folder to AECBIKR.bgl.OFF, this will set it out of action and thus resolves the "conflict of interests" at given location, I'll pas a note to the Dev team about it thank you for reporting
Neil Hill
Geoffrey, Wolter, AECBIxx are the "elevation" files for the Iceland Demo, there's about 27 of them. Changing AECBIKR to .off will mess up the Alexander airport. Is there a AECBIKR file that is part of default FSX? Cheers, Neil

gbogeaus
Wolter, Neil, Using the location program "Everything," the only AECBIKR file I could find in FSX is in Global scenery, along with similar files for what appears to be all the airports in the Iceland demo. It looks like FTX Global put them there. Well, if AECBIKR.bgl is the "elevation" file for Alexander, what's in the 01_ATPBIKR.bgl in ORBX_OPENLC_EUROPE8? BTW, I found this apparent conflict by running a program called Airport Scanner, which sniffs out duplicate airports. Geoffrey
Tim Harris
When Orbx enhances an airport or creates a custom airport, we must create a extra APX airport file, this is perfectly normal and not an issue. When we must change the elevation of an airport to match the custom mesh we must include an elevation change stub file in FSX/Scenery/World/Scenery, this is also perfectly normal and not an issue. There is no other way to alter an airport except to alter the default Microsoft one (which is a huge no-no in developer land)
