RESOLVED KMZ FILES AND GOOGLE EARTH

Hello,

 

I have a  problem with the KMZ files and google earth, this is what happens,

I drag the KMZ files from the ORBX,user document into google earth, nothing happen,

however GE will work normally only when I unplug the joystick,(Logitech extreme 3D pro)

so, for the past several days, whenever I need to use GE to check for airport details and places of interest

to fly, I just unplug to access GE and after that  plug in the joystick again to fly, 

Please advise what to do next.

This may not help you but recently Google notified me of an upgrade to Google Earth to version 7.1.1.1888 and after I did this, I was unable to load any of my KMZ files.

I eventually found a copy of GE v7 and am now able to load KMZ files again.

I fixed the problem by doing this to google earth version 7.1.1.1.888

 

Start GE, open tools\option\navigation\untick enable controller\apply\OK

 

Happy la..... conflict with joystick is gone. Arrow and white dot on earth also disappeared.

 

Can go to google earth community\ google earth help forum\ operating system categories\ PC\ 7.1 for desktop\ article in the help center\

release note and read.

^{Your tip about altering the Tools menu also worked for me and I am now able to use the latest Google Earth so many thanks for solving my problem also}

I'll mark this as resolved as I assume our KML's are working (at least they do for me with the latest version)
