Timmy74
Hi guys, WOW!! What another fantstic airport from the Orbx team. It maybe another dodgy install on my behalf but could someone please confirm that the windsock (North end of runway 03) is working correctly please? I had set the wind at 304 at 10knots. Kind regards always. Tim...

Ian Routley
Note that setting a wind condition, and resuming FSX next to a wind animated object will not provide predictable results. Just one of the bugs in the coding of the platform unfortunately.

Timmy74
Note that setting a wind condition, and resuming FSX next to a wind animated object will not provide predictable results. Just one of the bugs in the coding of the platform unfortunately. Hello Ian, Sorry I should have been a little clearer in my set up.... I had chosen one of the default weather engines "Cold Fronts" and it made the wind come from 304 at 10 knots. I then noticed the wind sock not facing the correct position when I began my flight from GA parking No4. I "slewed" over to the wind sock to get a screenie for my topic question. Or does your explenation still stand? Thank you kindly. Tim...
Ian Routley
It may, but more-so if you are restarting FSX to check wind direction. It will work, just not reliably so. The other possibility is that the sock is ot placed in the correct orientation. Looking at the sock model used, it will (almost certainly) rotate with the wind, but may be placed at an incorrect rotation. One of the guys should be able to check that. Bruce Hamilton
Judging from your compass, the direction looks about right.
peebee
Bruce, Thought wind direction 304 meant the wind is blowing from 304 not to 304? Peebee
Dean B
Correct Peebee. I've just tried it with a strong northerly. It looks like the sock is 180 degrees out.

Krycek
I think I have just seen the same thing at EGTR which I have just purchased, windsock looks 180º out to me.
