cloudbase
Hi, I am doing a reinstall of FSX/FTX. I have downloaded the NZSI.002 patch but I cant get it to unzip. I have tried downloading this file via various means in case this was the issue, I have downloaded the file via google chrome, also IE8 and even through free download manager. I have tried to unzip the file with winrar (my preferred unzip program), also tried 7-zip and the built in Win7 OS unzip program all resulting with the following error. --unexpected end of archive-- I have read newer versions of winrar will not unzip files compressed using older versions of the program. I was wondering what does FTX/ORBX use to compress their files so I can use the same program. Any other ideas would be welcome.
Wolter van der Spoel
just downloaded the file again to test, but works fine on my end, using PowerArchiver
cloudbase
I have had the same problem with the latest release of winrar for Win7_64Bit I had corruption errors in the NZSI1.002patch and the latest orbx texture lib and others. I tried downloading the files with IE9, IE10, Chrome and FDM thinking this may be the issue. I tried extracting the files with winrar and 2 other 'unzip' programs Answer: What I eventually found to work was to delete winrar from your computer, do a restart then use the standard win7 zip extracting program. All my problems solved. I had the winrar built into my program file shell, this seemed to be the problem. good luck
