cliffxxx
Hi all, I have all the Orbx scenery areas (thanks for these - they have really changed how I use FSX), but until recently had only a few of the airfields (and in particular KORS). I have what you call a "high-end" machine (i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz with 6GB RAM, running XP 64-bit), and have had no particular problems with frame rates unless (as you say in the manuals) i max out all the sliders, particularly in urban areas. Motivated by this month's sale I purchased and installed a number of new airfields, mostly in PNW. Although some of these are more frame-rate intensive they work fine. My problem is this: after installing these I have found that I always CTD when I fly to KORS, and if I try to start a flight at KORS FSX hangs and doesn't successfully load. (It gets to 75% and craps out when loading the autogen) I have all the updates installed, and have tried many of the things suggested in the FAQ threads devoted to frame rate issues, but have not been able to get KORS to work since, so am stuck. I have also reinstalled KORS, after which I've reloaded the updates and latest libraries. I have also turned off all of the items in the KORS 1.1 control panel, but nothing helps. Any ideas as to what the new installs might have changed that would have introduced a problem in a previously successfully running KORS? Many thanks for any help - I particularly enjoy flying in the Orcas Island area and so miss not having this field. Cliff
cliffxxx
forgot to add my order numbers to my sig - sorry! for KORS it was FSS0111273; Diamond Point is FSS0162861 and so on. (I'm not sure how many of my numbers you need, but I can add them for the other sceneries if required.)

Alex Goff
Only one order number works To your problem, have you cycled through FTX Central? Try setting to Default, then setting it back to NA. If that doesn't work one thing to try and prevent CTD's is get the latest version of FSUIPC. Even the free version will help prevent CTD's and it's a nice utility to have anyways
Tim Harris
Also make sure you have the latest PNW servicepack (SP5), and install the latest Orbx libraries patch last
cliffxxx
thanks for these - i did have SP5 and latest library installed last so that is not it, and have recently got the latest FSUIC. will try the cycling in ftx central - had not thought of that and am puzzled why that should affect things. (will report back about success/failure but am out of town for a few weeks, so will take a while to reply) FSS0067004 PNW; FSS0090598 NRM; FSS0093169 PFJ; FSS0093377 AU Blue; FSS0093404 AU Red; FSS0093436 AU Gold; FSS0093455 AU Green; FSS0111035 YMAV Lancair; FSS0111273 KORS; FSS0137273 NZSI PAKT; FSS0143958 CRM; FSS0145326 YBCS YPJT YBAS; FSS0162488 1WA6; FSS0162609 0S9; FSS0162861 2WA1; FSS0163578 YBBN; FSS0164237 KVBS; FSS0164495 74S; FSS0164642 1S2
Pooch
Same problem here. In my case it seems to depend on layering KORS and Vic+. Due to an earlier mesh issue ( http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/18468-cyyj-victoria-intl-by-don-grovestine-compatibility-with-ftx-pnw/ ) my insertion point for FTX was between Vic+ higher priority and Vic+ lower priority, but after installation of PNW patch005 this does not work anymore as FSX stops loading at 75%. My testing sofar: FTX layered below both Vic+ ( higher AND lower priority): FSX loads correct but results in major mesh problem at KORS. FTX layered above both Vic+ ( higher AND lower priority): FSX loads correct, KORS is correct but I miss details in Vic+ ( example at VIC2 ) Layering only FTX_AA_KORS above both Vic+ ( higher AND lower priority) seems to solve the problem. This requires to manually move FTX_AA_KORS in the scenery.cfg after applying North America via FTX Central. Peter
cliffxxx
I can't yet test it but a conflict with Vic+ could well be my problem as well. Will test both out immediately on my return. Many thanks for the tip!
Cal
Hello, Please excuse my ignorance. What is Vic+ and where do I locate it? It would be useful if any of the rest of us encounter a similar issue, thanks. good flights, Cal
Pooch
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=victoria+plus&FileName=&Author=grovestine&CatID=root there you find these great sceneries: VictoriaPlus = vicenh7a.zip and vicenh7b.zip and in addition: Victoria International Airport CYYJ (2011) = cyyj_505_1.zip Ciao, Peter
