pjarvis
Sorry to see others having problems getting Ai up and running. I have the opposite "problem" that I'm happy to have. I now have the new AI aircraft AND the defaults. I installed the aussie AI and ran FSX Got only the new aussie aircraft - and looked pretty good too! Quick 'Goto' to Bankstown and Narita - as expected, no traffic. Hmm, I really enjoy departing Sydney among traffic and the landing overseas among heavy traffic. Decision - back to default AI. Shutdown FSX, tick the box in the control panel. Restart FSX Result- One really crowded Kingford-Smith all gates and ramps full with mix of aussie and default aircraft.(Slider 100%) Don't know why but not complaining. Maybe not realistic but good enough for me. Just need to use slider within Australia to reduce traffic a bit then wind it up again before arrival. Mal Walker
The FTX AI flightplans are realistic, the reason you have so much traffic is that FSX takes 15 minutes or so to get the AI out and moving to it's destination when you startup the sim, once the sim has caught up and the AI have left things become normal. Another reason is that all of the major airports in real life use crosswind runways to ease the traffic but in the sim they only use one runway which causes bank ups and loaded airports. Ray Smith has added several crosswind runway afcads for FSX which you can find at Avsim, All of Australia and New Zealand major airports are there as well as some US and European airports. John Venema
We have a hotfix coming for YMML which also adds the crosswind runways. It greatly eases the conjestion and go-arounds there.
pjarvis
Maybe I didn't express myself too well. The point is that the traffic is a mix of default AI and your aussie AI. This is great! even if unintended. I can still have (default) traffic all over the world - both GA and commercial and a mix in Oz. The crowding at Sydney is to be expected with two lots of AI - but not a problem. Incidentally, saw a Korea air 747 at Centrair (Japan) yesterday, presumably part of the Aussie AI fleet. Also note that default AI use jetways but Aussie AI doesn't - not that it matters.
