Actually, my brother has been there a number of times, and he says much of what the media says is smog is actually fog, that sitis around 'till late afternoon. Gurdy Posted August 8, 2008 Share Posted August 8, 2008 I was in Beijing Feb last year which is winter .. and it was variable. But of the 5 days we were there we had clear blue skys on 4 of them.... I will agree that the media over exaggerate the problem. Especially with the humid summer months, where you get the foggy humidity effect along with the smog sitting under it. The reason for this is the the number 8 in Chinese culture is a lucky number representing wealth and good fortune For those down under it will start at 22:08 ....
