CYYZ 2007 in FSX (Works Just Fine)

I had no idea about this up until I gave it a try tonight... There was an awesome freeware Toronto CYYZ airport released for FS9 some years back that was superb is every sense of the word. It beat the pants off 'another' payware version of the same airport thats available. Tired of looking at the feault CYYZ and not really liking the 'alternative' payware version -not because I can't afford it, I just don't think it's very good thats all, kind of ugly- I installed the freeware CYYZ 2007 FS9 version into my FSX addons folder. Voila, it works fantastic!

You can grab it here from Megaupload as I wasn't able to find it on Avsim's site, along with alot of things after the blatant act of sabotage that took place. Did they ever get the persons involved with that incident and charge them? I know they would do time in the U.S. if ever convicted and rightly so.

Anyways here's the file.

And here are a few screenshots of what it looks like in the early morning hours. Cheers!

Should have asked, I had this installed on my FSX, I personally like the Blue Print version a little bit more since it's been updated, you get custom taxiway signs and crap like that. The CYYZ2007 look bad at night i thought.

Jocko,

You might want to have another read of the forum rules.

Uhm, ok... I don't mean to step on anyones toes, I thought this was a 'general forum' where we can talk about anything that doesn't conflict with OrbX payware. I figured I would just make a little topic on a nice little piece of freeware.

In the future I'll be sure to just stick to posting in the Avsim forum when it comes to sharing things with my fellow simmers if that's the way things are aroud here.

If the Mods had an issue with it, they would have done something about it. Considering it has been up here for a day they are more then likely aware of it. An old freeware airport for FS2004 in an area outside of ORBX is really not a threat to anyone.

Remember what Mike Brady Said..."Cindy, you know by tattling on your friends, you're really just tattling on yourself. By tattling on your friends, you're just telling them that you're a tattletale. Now is that the tale you want to tell?"    ;D ;D ;D

Duh. Guess who did not have his eyes open - FREEWARE.  :-[

Sorry I was certainly not trying to put you off posting, just I have notice a few threads lately that seem to be (to my mind) heading towards breaking the forum rules. My intention was only to warn the OP of this, as I said though I clearly did not read the post very well in the first place - long day at work sorry.  :-[:)

I can tell OrbX one thing, Myself and MANY other Canadian flight simmers I know would pay quite a huge amount of money if they did the Toronto area in the glorious FTX method ;) For some reason no publisher or group to date has ever made any Toronto or Ontario FSX scenery. I figured after this many years after the initial release of FSX that someone somewhere would capitalize on the beautiful city of Toronto and all it has to offer, but nope, not yet... :(

There's so many landmarks like harbours, yacht clubs, lake Ontario and it's many break walls and beaches, etc... The greater downtown area of Toronto has hundreds of historic buildings and monuments. The best us Canucks can do at the moment for the Toronto area is TileProxy. :(

I agree but also consider that ORBX has ventured into Canada like no other to date. They have covered the majority of British Columbia and well into Alberta. It will take time as they move further south and east.

Mostly these company's cover the USA first and Canada second however ORBX took on a lot of Canadian Content before venturing into the California regions. I think they've covered more 'Canadian Content' then the CBC as over 30% of their North America scenery is currently Canadian.    ;D

Usually not even Canadian Companies deliver more then 30% of Canadian Content and ORBX is probably over 60% Canadian in North America with PNW, FJORDS and NRM....Only a portion of two of those are covering the USA.

thanks for the post! good to know that this works straight up!

as for an FTX Ontario, i think it would be pretty blah, ontario in general is not a geographically beautiful place, although maybe more interesting than FTX Prairies hehehe

What ya wouldn't want to simulate real world flights flying the Celebrities from Toronto up to their cottages in Muskoka in a C108B Amphibian    ;D ;D ;D

AH your right. I learned to fly there at Toronto Airways and it isn't like B.C. but it is good for flying tubes in and out of Pearson in FSX    8)
