Bassman
Can latency on RAM sticks be changed? I just bought 2x4GB G-Skill Ripjaw sticks which have ratings (if that is the word) of 9-9-9-24. I notice that others appear to have Ripjaws with much lower latencies. Whilst planning my new system I looked for G-Skill sticks with lower latencies but could'nt find them so begs the question where do the lower latency sticks come from or are they just being "overclocked" or something? alainneedle1
You can change the latency on your stick and test for stability, you will be better off buying rams with lower latency from the manuf. Every time you change the latency on the rams (for lower number) you are overclocking them and will probably need more voltage to run them.
