The last car has some special meaning to me, I saw it win live at Le Mans in 1991, driven by Herbert, what a race that was, standing on the side of the straight seeing the Orange Green flash by like a bat out of hell.. amazing, good times with my dad on a tour of Europe!

PS In game shots and no editing done, I will see if I can get a video too soon :)

These are really great Jay!..

I got this game and been playing it full on, so much that FSX hasnt had much time lately!

I do think though in some areas of the game, the graphics are flawed. I get some flickering with the scenery, distant objects like fences and stuff look really bad, especially in some of the snow tracks and some V Sync issues.

Are you experiencing these?

Had no idea you could take screenies on a track. I've taken a shot of the car parked up at some nice location. Looks absolutely life like! Problem is though, as mentioned above, I too believe the graphics aren't 100%. The shots you take in the photo module, everything is peachy, but during an actual race, the shadow edges are terrible! Jagged like you wouldn't believe. Its been report by many already. The lines of the actual objects are fine, its just the shadows that are jagged as hell!

Overall though......the game is awesome. i hardly notice the shadow problems as i'm generally staring at the walls of the Nurburgring whilst sliding on the grass at 320 km/h in me 458 italia after that massive long straight and that "gentle" left hander that sneaks up on me time and time again  :P

yeah, interesting. i've got a Samsung 46" FHD LCD. I did just jump online and googled away. one guy reckons force your PS3 into 720p and it goes away. hmmmm.....doesn't sounds right, but i'll try it! I also just read and found that under the game settings in options>>hardware>>display you can set it from normal, reduce flickering and sharpen. HA! well, mine was on normal....will set to sharpen and will test that right out

No, it is not fun at all... it is MEGA FUN! One of the best games I have ever played, lots and lots and lots of old cars apart from the new ones but as you can see from my shots, I favour the old(er) cars ;)

Check out 'Real Racing 2' from Firemint for iPhone/iPod Touches. Its $13 bucks, but is well worth it. And firemint is an Australian based company, so youd be supporting 'our kind' haha. The graphics are great, probably similar to the ones in GT5.

See roo. those edges everyone is talking about.. I also think it depends on what your TV is capable of, because I do not have that problem, or .. I am just blind LMAO!

Well, we actually have one of those aweful 1st gen HD 1080i heaps of junk, so I guess im really not seeing the best out of this game..

I said to the misses, we seriously need a new TV, she said "What do we need a new TV for?"...... Jeez, they just dont get it....  ;D

Real Racing for the iPad is pretty arcadish.  But it's nice to see so much interest in racing sims, my new passion.  This GT5 looks incredible from those screenies.  I don't have any console, though.  Anyone do LFS or NetKar? NetKar seems to be the closest to a true sim.

I use the G27 and it works more than fine, the level of realism is as little or as much as you set it. To be honest, I do not think that some of the monsters of computers (inclusive of my own ) would do as a good of a job the PS3 does with this game.

If you love racing, if you love having some fun at the same time and being gobsmacked because of graphics or reality, like the 512 is like in real life completely and utterly tailhappy as you see it in the videos of the old days. The circuits are phenomenal and the Green Hell is well.... wow, there are no words for it, especially with fast cars, it is crazzzzzzzzzzzy

This game is really fun!  Half the fun is making screen shots LOL  ;D

My cars aren't as neat as yours but here's my contribution:

Yeah I gotta say they nailed the graphics.  Just wish the load times could be a bit faster...  I installed to my PS3 but event the smaller courses seem to take forever hehe.

Another thing I wish they paid more attention to is crash and damage.  The only thing you can do is bump other cars...  Heck on occasion I rear end someone - that's gotta leave a mark!
