tim_A
Today we're going to continue our trek North along the coast. Just 32 miles brings us to Port Macquarie. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/4963/ta008.jpg Port Macquarie started life as a penal colony, due in no small part to its isolation. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/3779/ta010.jpg Now though, it's all beaches and retirement homes. And, of course, an airport. Which is where we come in. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/2410/ta011.jpg Lining up. This is a photo runway, rather than the usual AFCAD style. You just have to look at the quality: It oozes! [img width=1160 height=361]http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/5686/ta015.jpg So we're off. Say goodbye to the Manning River. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/4723/ta021.jpg The hills here have a distinctly volcanic look. Possibly a long extinct shield volcano - there are a fair number about. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/8183/ta022.jpg Queen's Lake and Nature reserve. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/1174/ta024.jpg And very soon we arrive. There's virtually no wind, so we elect for a straight-in approach. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img816.imageshack.us/img816/9726/ta029.jpg More impressive ground work. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/5181/ta032.jpg And a nice terminal building. However the frantic waving from the guy inside suggests we're not welcome round here. I guess we have to use the serf's entrance!
Ken Hall
another great set, when you get past Coffs head inland to sth grafton, Ian Routley (I think) did a great job on this strip Ive seen the place in real life and I can vouch for the accuracy, full of character. Really enjoying your trip. cheers Ken
Dean (PC Aviator)
Superb again... Tim, Do you have a journal or list of all the flights you have undertaken so far (aside from the reports here)? I would love to fly some of these same routes.

tim_A
Superb again... Tim, Do you have a journal or list of all the flights you have undertaken so far (aside from the reports here)? I would love to fly some of these same routes. Here's a map of the route to date (it shows legs I've flown but not reported on, so sadly rather highlights how badly behind I am.) It's in thumbnail, as the full size pic is over 330K. Here is a link to the FSX .pln file. If you want plans from a specific flight, I can supply them, but they are easy enough to recreate from the overview.
Butch
Hi Tim, I've following your report and appreciate your comments on the runway! That track your posted, very very impressive... I have to apologise, I know I still owe you a scheme I've been flat out in RL. Promise to get it done soon. Cheers Butch
