cloudbase
I see MS .net framework Ver 4 is out for download, has anybody installed it? I dont know if i should bite the bullet and download it or wait a few weeks to see if there are any issues. I wonder what John Venema, Jaykae and team FTX think of it? Heiko Glatthorn
I have it installed for quiet a while now and haven't noticed any 'side effects' so far (Win7 64 Ultimate).
Wolter van der Spoel
.Net Framework 4.0 is included with W7 as far as I know it's not for XP so be carefull with what you install
John Bosch
It can be installed on XP if you are using Service Pack 3. All of the .NET Framework versions work independently of each other. Installing 4.0 will not replace your 3.5, nor should it affect it.
rohan
All of the .NET Framework versions work independently of each other. Actually, that's not true as of version 4. M$ have changed their policy from previous versions and made version 4 backward compatible in the same way that most other software is. They do however warn that that compatibilty can be broken. In theory, version 4 will run .NET programs developed for earlier versions of the Framework, but, as a .NET developer, that's not something I will rely on without a lot of testing ...
