Aceshigh
Hi.. I changed my CPU from a standard Pentium 4 3.0 GZ to a Core two duo 2.6. It has improved my computer use a fair bit and will hold me over to a larger upgrade later this year. My motherboard was able to have the CPU upgraded and all is well. But I have one question... FSX with Sp1 and Sp2 & FTX were all installed back when I had the single core pentium 4 on the mother board. Do I have to tweak any files anywhere to let FSX know there is a dual core processer now in use? Hate to think that FSX is still just using one core while flying ? thanks. Wolter van der Spoel
Mark, get the batch file Butch posted, place it in your main fsX folder and make a shortcut from it to your desktop, then fire up fsX from that shortcut, you'll be pleasantly surprised
Aceshigh
I found it but it does not like my system... ... it ran FSX smoother but my mouse and keyboard turned off and I could not come out of FSX. A ctlt+Alt+Del did nothing as well. Had to do a hard reboot from the reset button. Than it said the system had recovered from a serious error.. Oh well, it was a worth a try. Will study the entire topic ( post) in more depth. I think Im pushing the my PC beyond its comfort zone. LOL
