Jean-Paul Mes
I have given the lowest resolution (128x128) Tree X V2.1 tree textures set a try in FTX. Even if they are less detailed, out of proportion and sometimes weird, colorwise, compared to the FTX default trees (I am not bashing Tree X but it is just less adapted for FTX), they do seem to give me better frames/less stutters. Have you guys experimented with different resolutions for the FTX tree sets ? I would not mind having the choice of trading tree detail for more fps. Wolter van der Spoel
Hi JP, did you lower the number of the Autogen trees in your fsX.cfg ? that also helps to increase fps and helps with smoothness as well Standard is something like 4500 I've set mine to 2000 and it works a treat
Jean-Paul Mes
Hello Wolter, Yes I have tried that as well as the SmallPartRejectRadius tweak. Those tricks do work by reducing the number of displayed trees but that is not what I am after. To put it otherwise, a lower res tree set seems to give better fps and less stutters for a same amount of trees but is visually less attractive when very close. Wouldn't it be interesting if the user had the choice to trade the loss of some visual quality for a smoother flight ? Jean-Paul
