Sante Sottile
Detroit has never looked better! From our indie developers comes the ultimate Detroit package for both Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane 12. KDTW Detroit Metropolitan Airport has been in the works for more than 2 years as it started with X-Plane and eventually made its way to join up in a parallel development with MSFS. To complement the airport, we developed the landmark packs for X-Plane 12 and MSFS, with the latter being released first, followed by the airport. At a glance (KTDW): Custom KDTW-specific GSE Custom KDTW-specific jetways Custom Mesh for both MSFS and XP12 (compatible with Ortho4xp) Custom animations all over the airfield including toggleable hangar doors in XP12 and animated shuttles Every building on the airfield is a custom 1:1 replica. No generic models were used throughout the scene Hundreds of hours refining the level of detail allowing higher details without a performance hit. Seasonal effects such as snow piles and custom weather maps allow a more realistic water and snow accumulation Animated highway/roadway traffic (XP12) Full 1:1 terminal interiors Spirit, Endeavor, Signature, and SkyWest hangar interiors modeled At a glance (Landmarks Detroit): Over 52 custom buildings and structures. Detailed representation of the waterfront and industrial areas along the Detroit River. A large amount of highly detailed generic models replace the city’s photogrammetry data, including models for cranes, chimneys, vehicles, structures, and much more. Animated Detroit People Mover on the raised tracks through the city’s downtown. Emissive textures on all buildings for dazzling nighttime flying across the city Let's start with some previews of KDTW for Microsoft Flight Simulator: Now, what about Landmarks Detroit City Pack? We've joined in on the project by adding Landmarks Detroit City Pack to complement the airport in both simulators. Now for the X-Plane 12 pilots, we know many of you have been waiting a long time. Especially since we first previewed Detroit back in 2022. The wait is almost over! Some screenshots of the airport: Similar to Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane users will be able to complement their airport with a dedicated Landmarks Detroit City Pack for X-Plane 12: Keep on the lookout as our Detroit Landmark City Packs are the first to be released, which is very soon! The airports will follow shortly after. Users will also be able to take advantage of bundle deals!
