stehas78
Hi, Can I make shortcuts to TE areas on an external drive, and/or if I copy TE areas onto my C drive, do I need to do anything in Orbx Central to verify the files? Thanks.
Jon Clarke
Yes you can make shortcuts but they will not update the addons when updates are available as Orbx Central does not recognise shortcuts. On the other hand Orbx Central does recognise symbolic links. I would not recommend placing the addons on the C drive as that is the drive the OS resides on. I attach an easy symbolic link programme for you. Google how to use it. It is extremely easy and you don't need to be a PC whiz to use it HardLinkShellExt_X64.zip
stehas78
Thanks for this. Is there any way of converting the ortho to a lower size/resolution, like the HD and SD versions of the US areas? Can I run TE with a different ortho, or just with default? Jon Clarke
There is a way and you would need to look for a piece of software that would reduce dds resolution.Don't quite understand the second part of your question about running with a different ortho. Are you wanting to know if you can run with ortho4xp? If so yes you can but it rather defeats the object of having TEGB. You would use the Custom and Overlay folders over the ortho4xp. stehas78
That's right - running with different ortho. That would still give the TE autogen and custom buildings, if I keep the overlay and custom folders? Downloaded some tiles from zonephoto.org, if you're familiar with those.
