Mets747 Posted September 15, 2019 Share Posted September 15, 2019 It seems that I'm missing all of my highway textures and my sim is just showing an open field or all sand or grass where my roads are supposed to be. Nick Cooper Posted September 15, 2019 Share Posted September 15, 2019 I think that what you are seeing is the Open LC road skirting. You can use the product control panel to switch them off. Mets747 Posted September 15, 2019 Author Share Posted September 15, 2019 That did the trick, I had road skirting enabled and I disabled it and that brought my roads back! However....It looks like that gave me another issue with the Highway lights. You can see in the photos that it is marking the "brighter" highway lights randomly in the middle of the ground and no where close to where the highway actually is...hmmm Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mets747 Posted September 15, 2019 Author Share Posted September 15, 2019 Actually, scratch that...disabling road skirting got rid of the open field highways and did not give me the road textures that should be there instead got rid of the open fields all together and placed the highway night lighting on top of where the roads would be, sorry if that doesn't make that much sense. Only sceneries installed are Orbxlibs, Global base, Vector, and OpenLC N America. In that order. Only have skirting. No road textures. In the Vector tool all roads are checked. Using Orbx Central I installed the above items into the P3D folder as in the past method used. Disregard. I found in Orbx Central under Help - Resynchronize Simulator. ORBX - you should have whatever that does "happen" automatically whenever the user chooses to "Verify Files". I'm new to ORBX (well, not really, but just moved to Prepar3D and got all the global stuff), and was having this same issue (no highways visible). A few things: This was a fresh, new installation with no other 3rd-party addons at all. I installed each product and then tested (so I could see the progressive changes) - all via ORBX Central - BASE Pack, then VECTOR, then openLC NA, then Trees HD. At each step I could notice a change (good) Once I noticed the highways missing I hunted for feedback online. I learned that you shouldn't mess with ORBX's positioning of the Scenery entries in the sim. That was my first thought for something to change. Ultimately I landed here and saw the post by @Mets737. I did the "Resycnronize step and it seemed to complete VERY / TOO quickly, but it did bring the highways to the top! I'm posting to recommend that ORBX do some testing on clean / new P3D 4.5 and verify there isn't something going wrong re this one layer. Nick Cooper Posted September 17, 2019 Share Posted September 17, 2019 Hello Mets737, it look like you have decided to make your own Orbx scenery library entries and than randomly scatter them into your scenery library. It could also be that you have added scenery library entries that should be add-ons.cfg entries. If you go through your scenery.cfg file and remove your home made Orbx entries and then set the Insertion Point in Orbx Central to just below the lowset of your other addons, things should improve. Nick Cooper Posted September 18, 2019 Share Posted September 18, 2019 Hello, you seem to have made the Orbx entries yourself again? Your airports should be below your Orbx Libraries entry but above the OpenLC entries. HD trees does not need a scenery library entry. Anything installed into an Orbx Central Library outside the P3D v4 folder does not need a scenery library entry. You should stay well away from the add-ons.cfg file which is created by P3D v4 based on the products installed using the xml method. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The correct oder is the Airports below the lowest of your addon scenery and the Open LC entries below that. For some reason, you have a scenery library entry for [Area.007] Title=Orbx Global Trees HD Local=C:\Users\Jay\Documents\ORBX Library\p3dv4\Global Trees HD\Scenery\Global Active=FALSE Required=FALSE Layer=7 which should not be there at all. gfxdsnr427 Posted July 19, 2020 Share Posted July 19, 2020 I had this exact problem when I switched from FTX Central to Orbx Central about 6-8 months ago. I could not get the highways to show up outside of a purchased airport. For example: Monterey Bay looked great around the airport within the scenery limits, but flying north, the freeway just "stopped" along the beach. Cars started driving on the sand even with Northern and Southern California installed. I switched back to FTX Central and the highways were back. However, since then I have been forced to switch to Orbx Central. I can't remember what prompted me to have to switch. I think it was an error message of some sort telling me I needed to use Orbx Central or it wouldn't run. Anyway, I'm back to the same problem and I have no highways outside of purchased airports. I love the new UI and look of Orbx Central, but hate the fact that it messes up the freeways. I'd go back to FTX Central, but that is no longer an option. Btw: I am using P3D v4.5.
