Nightstrider101
Hello everyone, I have been searching for quite a while to find a fix to this but I can't seem to understand why only the orbx aircraft have giant ball lighting like the default FSX lights. I have dynamic lighting on and have also got a custom halo.bmp file installed. FLAi models don't seem to have this issue from what I can tell and none of the user aircraft do this. All the .fx files seem to point to the fx_2.bmp file could that be the problem? Thanks, Nightstrider101
Nick Cooper
Hello, do you mean Orbx AI aircraft?
Nightstrider101
Hi Nick, yes that's it. This is the specific addon I'm talking about: https://orbxdirect.com/product/aitraffic-aunz-p3dv4
Nick Cooper
Thanks, all the AI and indeed multiplayer aircraft in my simulators have huge lights, I would guess that it is the file and perhaps the halo setting. There are plenty of online amendments available for you to try.

Nightstrider101
Could the file/s that the aircraft.cfg be an issue? In the aircraft.cfg it points to fx_beacon for example and then that points to a file called fx_2.bmp which Windows says is corrupted.
Nick Cooper
Hello, Fx_beacon is a effects file that points to fx_2.bmp. Fx_2.bmp is not corrupt and assuming that you have tried to view it with Windows Photo Viewer I think that if you look at the error message you will see Windows cannot open this picture because it appears to be damaged, corrupted or is too large All that actually means is that Windows Photo Viewer cannot open it. With the right software, it opens perfectly well. Please try the useful utility that jd_jay kindly linked.
Nightstrider101
Hi All, I tried the application that jd_jay suggested and it worked, I just had to overwrite all the files into the actual P3D directory (I made a backup first). I might experiment with a different fx_2.bmp that I found online that looks very similar to the one Nick posted. Thank you all for the help my sim looks so much better now :D.
