Mark Abdey
One thing, apart from the beauty, is how good the performance is. The shots below show Seattle and surroundings, with agn set to 'V. Dense' and I am still able to maintain 18 to 25 fps... the density of trees is esp. amazing, yet the rates are consistent and smooth. Only rapid view changes will upset things briefly. And this is on my very feeble PC - X2 2.6ghz - 9800gt 1gb - 2gb RAM - winXP 32bit - on a better PC max settings would be a breeze... this is well optimised scenery. Mark Abdey
Insane levels of Autogen [maxed] and hitting 50fps.... mostly around 35 though. I wonder how many trees are being rendered here? [img width=1120 height=700]http://www.fsfiles.org/imagehost/uploads/1267333226.jpg [img width=1120 height=700]http://www.fsfiles.org/imagehost/uploads/1267388698.jpg [img width=1120 height=700]http://www.fsfiles.org/imagehost/uploads/1267296904.jpg These are all taken using the bufferpools/poolsize=0 tweak... which certainly makes a huge difference on my PC. Thanks for posting. Hi - I'm not sure TBH... I did do a little flying in the area prior to the release, but it looked so bad I did not persist - I did not see this number of trees with default, so cannot compare. I cannot imagine running default this dense and getting frame rates this fast though Buildings do cripple me more, than trees, so I may add the 'max buildings per cell' to the cfg, to see if I can strike a balance, but I am staggered by what I am seeing Vs the performance I'm getting. jbroadwa
Mark, I'd like to know what settings you are using. My computer is also a little older, but not exactly a slouch either. Unfortunately, I'm not getting performance anywhere near yours on seemingly lower settings. As a matter of fact, I used to hold 25 fps around Seattle and now struggle to get 12 fps with NA Blue. Thanks, Joshua
