micgrech
Hi, I have Corsair 1600mhz RAM on my machine however I think its only running at 667mhz. I think it was set this way when it was overclocked. Can someone have a look at the settings below and advise? If so is there an easy way to change these settings? I assume its under the BIOS? Cheers

micgrech
Thanks Mate! You were also assisting me with installation of an additional pci graphics card on my rig last week. Just a final update on this one! I ripped the bloody thing out! Too many issues for what it was worth! Thanks mate!!
Maurice_King
What were the issues ? surely we can get things percolating well.
micgrech
What were the issues ? surely we can get things percolating well. I installed a GeForce 6200 256mb PCI card in my machine. Windows 7 installed the drivers off the web for this card however my drivers for the GTX285 card were being rolled back to an older version. Don't know why!! Everytime I tried to run FSX I would get an error saying that the graphics card did not suite FSX requirements. No matter what I tried the system still thought the 6200 card was my main display adapter! This did my head in! I pulled the 6200 out Everything is working fine now! Just a question on another tangent around overclocking for FSX. Should I turn hyperthreading off? Cheers
BradHosking
Just looking at your Sig - Intel Core I7 920 @ 4.0GHZ You didn't screw around with the bus speeds of the PCI-E did you? If you have you might want to ensure that they are stock as the GFX card may not be liking what you have done. Try bringing your OC down. That also maybe causing stability issues. Maurice_King
If I remember early on in that thread I suggested you not have the two graphice cards the same breed or ther might be issues with driver's.

Oh Right,,,,I actually thought two different types would actually cause issues.....Sometimes logical thinking is not always right! Thats fine, I can do without the additional monitor. I will enjoy FSX and FTX rather than worry about it!!! I am about to get PNW! Can't wait.

Hi Brad, No mate, no change in Bus settings of the PCI-E card! All Stock. Bring down my OC??? No chance. All running smoothly! Just did a flight from Tamworth to Coffs Harbour in a Dash 8! All smooth sailing!!
Sniper31
-snip- Should I turn hyperthreading off? Cheers Yes, with an I7 O/Clocking you definately want to turn OFF hyperthreading.
