BigMalc5
I'm trying to solve a problem with elevation issues at Vancouver. I followed "Nicks" instructions about placement order but trying to run the vector config tool from settings has run for over six hours and I fear there is something amiss! Nick Cooper
Hello, if the "Vector config tool" has run for six hours, you have probably installed your simulator directly to the drive without a root folder. This will have nothing to do with your problem with elevation which looks like water bodies at a different level to the terrain. Usually, installing an addon mesh will cure that. BigMalc5
Hello Nick, thanks for the prompt reply. Yes my Prepar3D installation is on it's own drive.(screenshot attached) Are you suggesting the drive should have a seperate folder titled P3D? If that's the case maybe a complete re-install is required. What addon mesh are you refering too? Best regards, Malcolm. Disc label.bmp
Nick Cooper
Hello, yes, the installation should indeed have its own folder. It does work as it is but with the small problems such as you have encountered. Vector places water where it should be and the simulator mesh is pulled up or down to wherever water is. There are many addon meshes, Freemesh X is cost free.
BigMalc5
Thanks Nick, I think? So with regard to a complete re-install what's the best/easiest way to backup my Orbx files? I have quite a lot of Orbx scenery which takes a long time to download again. Best regards, Malcolm. Birmingham, UK.

BigMalc5
Thanks Nick, article is very helpful. Just to clarify Is it just the Orbx files in the Scenery and Effects folders I need to copy? Also what is the best way to address the drive I intend to install everything back on as far as labelling is concerned. That is it will be Drive S:????? Best regards, Malcolm.
