Gestacon
We're flying off the USS Nimitz this morning with the F35C, one of my favourite aircraft in P3D. Link for the freeware USS Nimitz Carrier add-on on the youtube page. I hope you enjoy!
shipdriver
Nice! In those conditions, you should try a Case I approach. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_Navy_Day_case_1_landing_pattern.jpg Fly Navy!
Gestacon
Thanks, I havent seen this before and I'll give it a try. My pattern was larger than it needed to be and this would be more challenging for sure.
shipdriver
Yeah, Case I is actually the normal approach that carrier pilots practice day in and day out.. The longer straight-in approaches are done only at night and inclement weather with the assistance of "tower" control. The F-35C also has Delta Flight Path, which is a very sophisticated auto landing system, but I'm not sure if that is modelled on your sim, and I'm sure the pilots will train the old-fashioned way anyways because those skills are very perishable. BTW, it's always nice seeing my old girl Nimitz, since she was only ship I was stationed aboard more than once.
