Lord Nibbo
I have tried to install Orbx Global three times but found out just by chance if I flew anywhere near Corsica or the Airport LFKS that P3Dv4 just disappeared to desktop, Each time I reinstalled a backup using Acronis True Image that didn't have Orbx Global in it when I backed up and P3Dv4 worked fine flying over or near LFKS. Has anyone else suffered using P3Dv4 because of Orbx Global?
Nick Cooper
Hello, Sorry, I cannot replicate what is happening to you. It might be worth checking the windows event viewer for a cause of the disappearance.
Lord Nibbo
I can't do that now as I've installed the backup without Orbx Global.
Nick Cooper
The record of the error will still be in the windows event viewer.
Lord Nibbo
I'm not sure if this is from the last time I had Orbx installed but it is from about the same day I did a re-install from my back ups - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2017-08-05T10:26:21.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>103011</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>User-PC</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data>4.0.23.21468</Data> <Data>59279be2</Data> <Data>unknown</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>00000000</Data> <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>0000000039d27c40</Data> <Data>98c</Data> <Data>01d30dcbfc5050ae</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data>unknown</Data> <Data>85bb738e-79c8-11e7-84bf-382c4ab5a506</Data> </EventData>
Heronjr
Well, I cannot swear my CTD in P3Dv4 is caused by Orbx Global, but the symptoms are alike Lord Nibbo's, i.e., it occurs at the same geographic area. For the second time in a row (AUG03 and AUG05), I tried to fly from CYQX (Gander Intl) to KMEM (Memphis Intl) using the PMDG B747F and suffered a CTD exactly over BWG VOR (Bowling Green-KY) at FL340. I use LittleNavMap and could see the point on the map. The CTD is instantaneous and there are no messages or warnings from P3D. Tonight I am updating Global Base Pack with the last version and will try this flight again, saving it some miles before the BWG VOR. In the case of another CTD I will post here the Windows event viewer I find.
DarrylH
+1 absolutely clean install of V4 running perfectly, all default as installed. Added Global and changed to Bornemouth airport UK .. within 30 seconds, CTD... no warnings no error messages.
DarrylH
Interestingly..installing England seems to have fixed this for the moment. Perhaps it is something in the default "global" scenery?
Heronjr
And for the third time the CTD came between BWG VOR and KMEM. So, I gave up KMEM and did yesterday AUG09 CYQX-CYEG with the same B747F and it went well during the 5:40 flight till parking at CYEG.
