bigtaff
Hi, I suspect this has been asked before but I checked the FAQ's and couldnt find anything. Is it possible to install the ORBX scenery in a different location to the default FSX scenery folder as I am rapidly running out of space on my SSD drive FSX is installed on and I really want to purchase some more of these great products. I read somewhere that you could move the files to another HD and them use "Link Shell Extension" to direct the program back to original directory, has anyone done this at all? Would it be possible in the future for FTX Central to give the option to install the files into a different drive/directory? Regards, Bigtaff
Nick Cooper
Hello, it seems you have found the answer. Quote I read somewhere that you could move the files to another HD and them use "Link Shell Extension" to direct the program back to original directory, has anyone done this at all? No, at present, for the software to work, there must be an ORBX folder in the simulator root folder.
bigtaff
Thanks Nick, I will give it a try, would doing that slow down the loading times, it would be another internal SATA HD not an SSD? regards, BigTaff
Nick Cooper
Yes, the scenery will load at the speed of the slowest drive.
