Required order of scenery files in FX Steam Scenery List

Recommended Posts

New customer, recommended by CIX VFR Club members. I installed the Scotland file and then went to enable the scenery in FX and all the buildings at airports were under ground. So I tried different order of scenery files and after a few tries, success the buildings and the other stuff was correct. The scenery looks great, but it would have been helpful if the installation manual that came with the software had given the correct order of the scenery files, so I didn't have to use trial and many errors. Just a suggestion for the future.

Good product, thanks, ed

I think I spoke prematurely. With the installation, I am getting squares of earth, terra ferma, showing up in water and flashing. What have I not done correctly. I am reviewing the pinned FSX-SE pinned topic to see if it has my fix, but no joy so far.

Thanks for any insights, ED

Hi Ed, Welcome to the forums,

Your scenery library order should resemble the below guide, the installers will always put them in the proper locations and there is no need to move them manually, but you will need to set the insertion points in FTX Central 3, also check your mesh resolution setting is at 5m.

Ensure the Orbx Libs are installed and up to date. (is there a blue notification above the settings button in FTXC3?)

Ensure all of your 3rd party addons are at the top of your scenery library and above your FTX entries.

Then in FTX Central 3 Insertion points, move "FTX entries should be inserted below"  just below your last 3rd party addon.

Then move the "openLC entries should be inserted below"  just below your FTX entries. and click "Save".

Then run the "Force Migration" option.

Finally Click on the "Clear Temp" button.
