Rammy
Hi, I have had a working version of FSX steam edition with ORBX global and FTX England for many months now, but I had a disk crash which meant re-installing everything. As far as I know, I have a clean FSX (Steam) install followed by ORBX global, FTX England and nothing else. Now my scenery is littered with black boxes as far as the eye can see. Clearly something is wrong but I can't work it out. Please see attached picture:
Doug Sawatzky
Hello, Welcome to the forums, Please uncheck the "Preview DirectX 10" option in your FSX display settings. Cheers Doug
BrianU
https://stevesfsxanalysis.wordpress.com/how-to-purchase/ If you want to use DX 10 look at the above product. It worked great for me. Brian
jsapair
Good catch, Doug. Brian, did you have DX10 before the crash? If not, FSX with Steve's Fixer is a definite improvement over generic FSX. jsapair
Doug Sawatzky
Ya, I have been using Steve's payware Fixer for years, pay for it once and it has been updated and supported, can't go wrong, I would never run FSX without it.
Rammy
Thanks everyone. The direct x preview checkbox cured the problem and I am now up and running. Next I'm going to try the software you recommended. Tony
