BlackCloud
AM using Global/Vector and NA OLC (latest updates), and in checking some airfields in Alaska for a possible Iditarod tour for my VA, discovered one major and two minor errors. 94Z, Nome, AK http://imgur.com/a/q8OmD Kal Kaltag, AK http://imgur.com/dJO7j8p Two for PAKK Koyuk AK http://imgur.com/3Ii11CK http://imgur.com/CwyTyln This one is most likely not able to correct, appears default FSX location is totally off. spud
Do you have SAK installed? I viewed all three airports in my sim and the trees on the tarmac at KAL are present im my FSX as well. However, all airports are on land and clear of any obstacles as shown in your screenshots. Do you have FTX VECTOR installed? That could account for the buildings in the water at PAKK. From the KMZ files I have saved in my backup HDD, the airstrips in question would fall outside the SAK area. PAKK is the one most impacted, and for what I am attempting at doing, would be a needed airstrip. Kind regards,
spud
Next question, Have you ran the Auto-Configuration program under the Airport Elevation Corrections tab of VECTOR? Additionally under the Water Features tab uncheck the Frozen Surface (in Winter only) option. That has been know to cause trees in places they shouldn't be. BlackCloud
Have run Vector AEC several times, and the frozen water check was not checked. Could be that I had loaded up Australia, NZNI and NZSI, checking that I have Australia in the Vector settings, though I kind of doubt that would be the issue at hand. I don't have any of the ORBX or Aerosoft AK airports (Wanting them, but limited budget/income now), I do have MyTraffic and am going through that scenery folder, turning "off" any airport files that I do have. That is known to cause problems as well. Thanks for the continued suggestions to try. Appreciate it!
spud
Other than the order of your FSX Scenery Library I can't think of what else to try. As I said I believe that KAL trees are a problem either from FSX or ORBX as its the only airport in your list that I also see problems. Perhaps someone from ORBX can jump in now and offer BlackCloud some more help with his problems.
