Hi Rodney,

I use a Freeware shader utility called FSWC 3.15 Fullversion (FSWaterConfigurator) - to darken the default milky FSX night sky (Moon glow & specular reflection intensity). It has a GUI settings panel, including Preset profiles and sliders to make your own adjustments and own user profiles, this runs perfectly under FSX / DX9 mode.

DL page here:  http://www.strikingsoftware.com/downloads.shtml

There is also a user forum for tips and setup, profile shares from the main page here (Striking Software). http://www.strikingsoftware.com/index.shtml

But because you are running in FSX in DX10 mode you will need to install the FSWC 1.0 Lite version ( it does not come with a GUI interface) but you can use other profiles. It has a basic profile loading interface.  It also has special DX10 enhancements that would be part of the yet to be released/completed FSWC+ version  See here: http://www.strikingsoftware.com/fswc.shtml   DL page here:  http://www.strikingsoftware.com/downloads.shtml

You could also try ENB Series Shader/HDR  or  SweetFX to alter the darkness of the Night Sky and Daytime Bloom effect, and overall Sim colouring. Search the Orbx Forum for (JV's Purple Haze EMB) or read about it here:  http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/53501-jvs-2013-enbseries-purple-haze/?do=findComment&comment=473618.
