JEDWARD
I have had a P.C breakdown resulting in having to reformat my hard drive - hence I've lost all my Orbx files ! I've downloaded the FTXcentral3 installer (application installer-1.126Kb) 3 x times but each time a FTX Central 'image' just sits on my desktop doing nothing ! I have manually downloaded the 2 area's I purchased prior to my P.C melt down - NA Northern California (Transaction ID: 5823b4b2b4027) and NA Southern Alaska (Transaction ID: 5838303e552f4) They are zipped and sitting in my 'Downloads' Folder. I now need to know how to manually put them into FSX (which I have also reinstalled). Can anyone write me through it please ? Regards.
gmazzei
Hi You should run Your downloaded ftxcentral3_installer.exe with administrator privileges to install Ftx central V3 in the Orbx/\Script\ folder of Your Flight Sim Then run Ftx Central V3 to install your sceneries pointing to the zipped downloads Cheers
JEDWARD
Thanks for responding gmazzei. I right click on the ftxcentral3_installer.exe and choose "Run as administrator", (which I assume means administrator privileges). The usual "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer". I click YES. A picture of a glacier appears and just stays there - nothing else happens !
Nick Cooper
Hello and welcome to the forums. I would advise you to turn off your Windows User Account Control which is asking you the question. Possibly, you do not have all versions of the Microsoft .net framework installed. You can use the tool from this page to check and add them as required. JEDWARD
Thank you all for your help. I finally got it to work by installing .NET 4.6.2 as suggested by Nick Cooper. I selected to download and install a fresh via the FTXcental3 installer, and as I write this the files are downloading. Thanks a lot......
JEDWARD
Oh dear...I thought at last I'd be able to use my FSX over Christmas. Should it be this problematic using a purchased product ?? Anyway, There is now a ORBX folder within the FSX program folder list which contains 3 folders (FTX_NA, Scripts, and User Documents). There is also a ORBX folder in my computer 'programs' list which contains the FTX central 3 link, so I assume it has at least downloaded ok. However, there is no ORBX scenery's in the FSX scenery list. What must I do now to complete this story ? Regards
