Ryan Mason
This leg took me further up the NSW coast from YSSY on to Warnervale, Aeropelican, Newcastle, Newcastle Heliport (of course), Wallsend with its massive power lines, a helicopters worst enemy!. Then on to Maitland (which is one of the best freeware airports I have ever seen! congrats to Hcornea) through Dochra that was nothing more than a grass strip and a detour while my cessnock was still downloading lol. But finally installed it was time to check out the latest ORBX installment and I was not dissapointed at all, the trips have been great as I have had frequent company along the way from Andrew, Mozz and Johnno among others who have come along for a leg. Although I am going to have to start renaming it the Aussicop and Johnno trip as he is fast racking up as many miles in the dodo right of my port window, anyway I digress. The trip continued the next day my myself from Cessnock to Taree which was by far the worst leg of the trip with 40 knot constant winds and gusting of 70knots, which in a helo was enough to send me almost inverted 3 times, thankfully I had the altitude to recover and decided to hug the landscape and halve the wind at treetop level. I then took off from Taree on to Port Maquarrie which is still in my favourite places to visit list, you will see some fun that Johnno and I had there below, then continued to kempsey, Tonys place 1 and 2, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, South Grafton, Toumbaal Plains House, Palmer Island, Evans Head, Casino, Lismore, we picked up a hitchiker from the states on the way to Tyagrah and finished up just short of the border and Murwillumbar for this leg. Of course this took a while and you were all probably sick of the postings so gave it some time between them. Here is a plethora of pics from along the way.
