cyberpilot
Has anyone got the compass to work on Dave Garwood's wonderful Auster Autocrat? The aircraft is a little gem with tons of great repaints. Excellent for low and slow around FTX. Frank
Dexter Dog
Frank, it seemed to be ok to me, will have another look. Umm, you don't mean the fuel gauge on top of the dashboard do you? (I thought it was a compass!)
cyberpilot
Ah, so that's what it is! I've since discovered there's one of those old WW2 compasses on the floor which does work but is very hard to read. Frank

gorham
The Compass is on the floor just in front of the seats.I found it very embarrassing on my first flight in Auster J1b VH-KBI (which is one of the repaints) flying a long how can that possibly be the heading try some left rudder, the compass would not swing? try tapping it usually works!!! with that Dad said: Yes we have plenty of FUEL (that's when I said: just checking )How EMBARRASSING it was a fuel gauge not a compass,We've live and we learn to thank goodness.
