petfy
While doing heliports for Greenland I came across BGNS Narsaq which has the shortest numbered cross runways I have ever come across. I can do a once only landing in a C17 on runway 04 - nose first.
Jethro VH-JET
Nice find petfy, Real & short, can't imagine anything but a helo getting in or out. GE / Narsaq - N60° 55.037' - W46° 3.599' You're doing well landing a C17 there, given the C17 is nominal 159ft - 48.49m long (nose to tail). Rwy 04/22 - 191ft - 58.67m, Rwy 10/28 slightly longer, if that makes a difference 200ft - 60.85m both Rwy's are just 66ft - 20m wide. Vertical takeoff, loose the cargo, hope for a 200kt headwind, full thrust + JATO rockets.
petfy
Very forward thinking people - the Greenlanders . Who eventually needs long runways?
Jethro VH-JET
Not quite as big but interesting design, 38meters of swooshing blades. Ya Ya we like the hurdy gurdy. LOL EDIT: Cool, you have my 2000th post, It couldn't have gone to a better topic, I love to fly Helos, add a little blade slap/sound and they're a whole lotta fun.
