werick58
I've been noticing that almost all freeway overpasses (ex. KSNA and KSAN) look to be concave or sway back. The auto traffic traverses over the over pass instead of under. Is there an update to fix this issue? Thank you.

Holger Sandmann
Hi there, this has been discussed here http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/115281-socal-collapsed-overpasses/?do=findComment&comment=1035205 and here http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/108054-sca-service-pack-suggestions/?do=findComment&comment=972618 Essentially, we're a "victim" of the highly accurate 5-m LIDAR terrain mesh data and there's little we can do about this in terms of the bridges, as explained in those two threads. Not using those LIDAR data would not have led to better results either because the alternate 10-m USGS source data are many decades old -- they are derived from topographic maps surveyed in the 1940s to 60s -- and thus miss many recent road cuts, berms, quarries, etc. It's actually quite surprising by how much humans alter the shape of the terrain in urbanized areas! Cheers, Holger
